What to Expect from Premier Dental Team
As this is your first time interacting with the Premier Dental Team, you may wonder what to expect from the first few visits with us. It is our goal to make your first visit with us as comfortable and as enjoyable as we can. We want to put you at ease with us and to make your time convenient and relaxing.
The first appointment with your Gainesville dentist will be a time to address any concerns that you may have. We’ll help you with forms and try to answer your questions. Once we’ve accomplished that, you can relax and have a cup of Starbucks Coffee from the office beverage station while you take in the calming ocean scenery that is broadcast across our widescreen television in the reception area.
When it’s time for your appointment, Dr. Parra and the team will meet and greet you, answer your questions and help you to feel a little more at home with our staff. During your initial consultation and after its conclusion, the team at Premier Dental Team will gather some data from you. This may include:
- Digital diagnostic radiographs (minimal radiation)
- Digital intra-and extra-oral photography
- Head and neck cancer screening
- Intra-oral cancer screening
- Occlusion (Bite) Evaluation
- Thorough Periodontal Evaluation
- Thorough investigation of possible tooth decay, infection, or other associated dental conditions.
Having concluded that data gathering, Dr. Parra will continue with a comprehensive examination that will allow our staff to evaluat you for four different categories of disease and problems.
You’ll be evaluated for problems that exist in:
- Gum and Bone
- Tooth Structure
- Bite and Jaw Joint
- Smile Characteristics
Once this is completed, Dr. Parra will determine whether or not more diagnostics are in order and will consult with Dr. Craighead.
You may be asked to return to the office for a treatment presentation appointment that will allow us to speak with you about any problems and treatment options. You will also be asked about your preferences and be able to view your photos and other data that was collected. You’ll work in partnership with our healthcare team to determine your own plan of care.
At the end of your appointment you’ll be given time if you wish to think over the plans of care, the options that you have and to address any needs or concerns that you may have. It is our goal to work with you at a pace that is comfortable for you. We keep your best interests firmly in mind in every area of treatment and care.
